EMEDIA: Give our readers a small peek into your personal journey, your family life, your early days and how did you start your business.
GCHILI: Hi I am Kunwarjeet Singh Bhalla, Started my career as a Corporate Sales Executive at Cottage Industries Exposition. Therein my role includes planning travel services for the delegates of MNC along with promoting showrooms of handicrafts items. I always had a passion for traveling and wanted to start my own venture. So after working for 6 years, I started my own venture under the brand name Green Chili Holidays in 2010. Initially, we rendered services of leisure tours and corporate travel. Gradually, we expanded our area into corporate and social events as well under the brand name of Green Chili Events & Entertainment in 2012.
EMEDIA: Who do you see as your inspiration as you traverse this path of entrepreneurship?
GCHILI: I am a self-motivated person. Traveling and experimenting with new things is my passion. That’s what I believe has pushed me to start my own business.
EMEDIA: In your entrepreneurial journey, you must have faced many challenges, share any 1 which is etched in your memory and how did you overcome it?
GCHILI: Handling all the tasks on my own was the biggest challenge initially. Due to a lack of funds, we could not hire an experienced team. So managing marketing, finances and other admin tasks individually was a little difficult. Gradually as our business expanded, we have hired a team with each individual having a specific contributory role.
EMEDIA: What do you think your firm’s mission and vision are?
GCHILI: Our mission is to create bespoke events and magical experiences for our clients. We visualise ourselves as the first preference of every corporate or individual for their events and wedding planning.
EMEDIA: Who do you see as your biggest competitor and how do you differentiate yourself from them?
GCHILI: We believe in achieving our target for delivering what we commit. Also, we ensure to adapt to the recent changes that come in our industry with respect to technology and innovation.
EMEDIA: What is the Goal for you in terms of your business and as a person?
GCHILI: Our goal is always to serve clients with excellent service. We always focus on bringing the client’s specific vision to life rather than using pre-built packages. We aim to secure our position as trendsetters in the industry.
EMEDIA: How would you define success for the firm? What are the recognitions it has earned over the years?
GCHILI: I believe the real success lies in customer retention as a result of customer satisfaction. For over a decade, we have had an impressive 95% customer retention rate, we serve Fortune 500 companies in various industries and have operated programs across India & Southeast Asia. EMEDIA: Is the use of technology a boon for your sector? If yes, what are the upcoming technology trends in your industry?
GCHILI: Technology always adds to the ease of doing business. Through social media, we can reach the masses and showcase our work at the lowest possible cost. With the help of virtual reality technology, our customers can view the events handled by us in 360-degree view and can get a real-time experience of what their event will look like. This helps tremendously in gaining customers’ confidence and establishing the brand in the market. Such technology trends always help in market penetration. Further, in Covid times, we delivered services to customers on an online platform like organising an event, product launch, corporate celebrations, award functions, etc.

GCHILI: The foundation of any business is customer satisfaction and our values are centered around it. Our reach to customers at different locations has also expanded.
EMEDIA: What’s the most important thing you’re working on right now, and how are you making it happen?
GCHILI: We constantly work on our brand-building vide various social media handles. Presently we have queries more on social events so we are adding more and more vendors and hotels into our network so that we can have ample options available to offer as per the different budgets of the clients.
EMEDIA: What is the best advice for a young, first-time start-up CEO?
GCHILI: My advice will be to always work on keeping customers at the center of everything, and try to add maximum value and personal touch to their requirements. Be swift in decision-making.

GCHILI: Our goal is always to expand the customer base, delivering with excellence and updating to the latest technology. We aim to secure our position as trendsetters in the industry.
